Katherine Heigl discusses her experiences in a 'white bubble' changed the way she raised her family of multiracial origins. The "Firefly Lane" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actor revealed in a recent interview that in regards to the color of her skin, she didn't care how she looked like however, after speaking with her older sister whom she adopted to South Korea, she realized how different society treated both of the two. "I I asked my sister Meg, if she had been treated one way while walking around with our parents and a different way in the time she was alone without them. Meg replied "Oh, yes, every time!" Heigl told her parents it made her realize just the extent of her ignorance. According to the actor she became angry. She wanted to channel this energy into helping her adopted girls. Heigl has a four year old son who is married to her 13 year old spouse, Josh Kelley. Their daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is an Black 8-year old girl that was adopted by the couple in 2012.
