Laura Linney is an American actor, who became popular for her portrayal of strong but vulnerable characters. Linney was born to a single, unmarried mother who was a nurse. Her interest in the theatre during time spent in the summer with her father, who was famous. She was a student of acting at Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. She began her Broadway career after her graduation in the year 2000, before making her television debut the following year. Since then she has appeared in a variety of films, television productions and stage plays. There were many awards she received over the course of her career including four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. However, in spite of numerous awards acting has been her passion first and foremost. She continues to perform both in stage and screen.
