Zazie Olivia Beetz was born on January 1, the 1st of January, 1991 Berlin. Her father was an German Cabinet Maker who came to live into the United States following the fall of the Berlin Wall. Jennifer Aniston also graduated from her high school. Beetz, who graduated from LaGuardia in 2007, was a student at Skidmore College and studied French. Following graduation from Skidmore College Beetz began to audition immediately for roles and was eventually offered as Van in Atlanta. Beetz, who was born in Berlin and grew up with a German-American father as well as an African American mother who lived in New York, spoke both German as well as English when she lived in her house. Zazie has performed in theaters around the city since she was a child. Her passion for acting was evident and she began acting in elementary school. Zendaya's Disney Channel Breakout Role Zendaya's dancing skills certainly paid off. In 2010, the actress and dancer got her first break-out part when she got the role in the role of Rocky Blue in the show 'Shake It Up', with her co-star Bella Thorne. Zendaya became a vegetarian at the age of 11 after she walked past a slaughterhouse while on a road trip with her father. PEOPLE reports that Zendaya said, "I found it horrifying to see the entire animals that were being crammed in there, waiting to be killed." That's not the way I ate my meat! She's been eating predominantly plant-based food ever since.
